Support to Village Halls

Managing a community building is a complex task for a voluntary management committee and TVRCC provides the services of a specialist adviser to assist hall trustees in their work.

A responsive service is provided by telephone or email for enquiries on any matter relating to the management of rural community buildings.

Training courses are open to all trustees of community buildings on a variety of issues including updating on regulations.

TVRCC supports the Tees Valley Village Halls Network, a consortium of member halls in the Tees Valley which distributes newsletters and offers training workshops for village hall committees. The Tees Valley Village Hall Network's website has contact details for all its member halls within the Tees Valley.

Hallmark - A Quality Standards Scheme for Village Halls

In 2007, ACRE (Action with Communities in Rural England) developed a quality standard scheme for the management of community buildings/village halls, which is called the Hallmark Scheme. ACRE invited TVRCC to operate this scheme in the Tees Valley.

Developed in close conjunction with Village Hall Committee Members, Hallmaster is designed to alleviate the common problems Village volunteers have in managing their bookings & invoices.
